Your Adventure Starts August 2013
An innovative program, for grades 9-12, that enables student/athletes the opportunity to pursue a high level training and competition program, during the winter, with a lighter academic load.  Once the snow melts, student/athletes pursue rigorous academics alongside a world-class training and conditioning program during spring, summer and fall.  Your goals delivered year-round.

More On-Snow Training
A lighter academic focus during the winter means increased on-snow training time and the flexibility to create training sessions built around individual athletic goals.  Training sessions that are conducive to specific athlete development.

Individualized Academic Schedule
In addition to mastery in core subject areas, all WVA graduates will be able to utilize skills developed in the fields of leadership, technology, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, self-management and global awareness.  Students will develop the skills and competencies necessary for success in our ever changing, competitive world.

Exclusive Pinnacle Camps
Pinnacle Program athletes will have the opportunity to attend two exclusive on-snow camps during the off-season.  Private camps featuring world class coaching, tailored towards the athlete’s off season development.

Emphasis on SAT/ACT Testing Skills
Specific content, covered in SAT/ACT assessments, is incorporated into our core curriculum.  In addition WVA utilizes Knower Tutoring, the leader in the field of test prep tutoring, to teach and familiarize students with the strategies and tactics necessary for success in these assessments.  Preparing students for successful college and university acceptance.

Innovative Burdenko Method Conditioning
The Burdenko Method is an innovative and world class, land and water based conditioning program that focuses on the following six fitness qualities: balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, speed, strength, plus nutritional balance for the elite performance athlete.  Successfully used by elite international athletes and the optimal training program providing conditioning results and injury prevention.

Technology Driven Curriculum
The Pinnacle Program is committed to utilizing the latest technologically based instructional tools to maximize student learning and better prepare our students for the every changing landscape they will navigate after graduation. Leave the backpack at home, we’ll provide the iPad.

Highly Experienced Faculty
WVA teachers average 16 years of teaching experience, with 60% of our faculty holding advanced degrees.  Our professional faculty will be responsible for developing curriculum, it’s implementation, and assessment of learning.  Dedicated faculty who ignite the passion for life-long learning.

World Class Coaching Staff
Led by Tom Barbeau, Nick Preston and Peter Thorndike, our renowned Program Directors focus on fundamental skills, strategies, tactics, and the psychology of competitive performance.   In addition, the WVA coaching staff provides effective competition calendar management to ensure that our athletes maintain an optimal ratio between training, competition, and rest days. Coaches dedicated to helping athletes reach their personal goals, on and off the snow.
